TOEIC stands for the Test of English for International Communication and is designed for non-native speakers, intended to measure English proficiency of people working in international environments.
The exam takes different forms:
Both Speaking and Writing tests score between 0 and 200.
The TOEIC Listening and Reading test is two hours long with 45 minutes for listening and 75 minutes for reading. It consists of 200 multiple-choice questions divided between the listening and reading sections. The total achievable score is 990 points and is ranked on a colour scale:

The TOEIC Speaking and Writing tests were introduced in 2006 and separate scores are schieved for each of the tests. Candidates can take the Speaking Test without the Writing Test and vice versa. The tests are designed to assess actual English usage in the workplace but do not require and prior knowledge of business term usage. The Speaking test is around 20 minutes in duration, while the Writing test takes around 60 minutes. Each test score ranges between 0 - 200 and results are grouped into eight levels for speaking, and nine for writing.
